This side covers rooms, layout, lighting, color, comfort, small spaces, and practical home improvements. The writing is meant to be usable in an ordinary apartment or house, not only in a staged showroom.

Where the two sides meet

Makeovers is the bridge. A lighting plan, a thermostat schedule, or a smarter plug can change how a room works and how it feels. Those pages treat devices as part of the house rather than as a separate gadget catalog.

The Tools section adds small calculators for energy cost and plug scheduling. They use the numbers you enter and state their assumptions. They do not read a meter or promise a rebate.
