Smart Home Ace publishes practical writing about smart-home devices and the rooms they live in. This page explains how we try to keep that writing careful and honest.

What we publish

Most pages fall into one of four kinds of work: smart-home setup and troubleshooting, room and layout ideas, home makeovers that connect devices to daily comfort, and simple utility tools such as energy calculators.

Accuracy

Technical details, compatibility notes, calculations, and instructions should be presented carefully. Where a number depends on an assumption (a wattage, a schedule, or an example electricity rate), that assumption should be stated so a reader can substitute their own figures.

Product and experience claims

A product mention is not automatically a review. We do not treat every article as hands-on testing. If a page does not describe a specific, verified test of a device, it should not be read as one. Setup steps and troubleshooting notes are written as practical guidance, not as a substitute for the manufacturer instructions that ship with a product.

Updates and corrections

Pages may be corrected or updated when a detail is wrong or when a clearer explanation would help. If you spot an error, use the Contact page to report it.

Affiliate relationships

Some pages include affiliate links. Those relationships are described on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Affiliate links do not change the requirement that product mentions stay accurate and modest.
